St. Mary's Life Teen - Core
email: jasond@stmaryslifeteen.com
Age: 25
Years on Core: 3 years as Youth Minister; 4 years as Core member
Why on Core: I joined because it was my assignement from seminary at first. The more I stayed, the more in love I became with it. It was a place to lead teens closer to Christ and to develop a meaningful relationship with them. It is where I feel God has called me to!
Job: Youth Minister, which is the best job in the world, and one that many of the teens feels is not even a job!
College: Spent three years at St. John’s Seminary College in Brighton and graduated from Boston College with a BA in Philosophy and minor in education in 2004
Interests: Love watching movies, reality TV (Big Brother!), hanging with friends when I can (and contrary to belief I have some).
Favorite LT memory: The everyday moments of hanging at homework days talking with teens, the random visits to my office from people, and those moments that can never be created, but just happen!
Favorite Scripture: Jeremiah 29:11-14
Age: 24
Years on Core: 3
Why on Core: I joined Core for because wanted to give back to the Life teen program. I was blessed to have gone through both the teen and alumni program growing up, and the Core members that I interacted with were some of the biggest influences and role models in my life. I wanted to have the chance to be that kind of person for other teens.
Job: Infant-Toddler Teacher in Boston
College: Rivier College (BA in Early Childhood & General Special Education with a minor in Spanish)
Interests: I love to dance (Tap, Ballet, and whatever other styles interest me at any given time). I love photography, reading, and just spending time outdoors. I play the flute and am learning how to play the guitar.
Favorite LT memory: World Youth Day 2000 in Rome and Midnight Mass my senior year in High School, when I converted to Catholicism.
Favorite Scripture: Isaiah 41:10 and Jeremiah 29:11.
Years on Core: 8/12ths ;-)
Why on Core: I am on core because it was Life Teen that laid the
foundation of my own faith. I know how extremely important it is
introduce teens to the Lord and the impact it will have on their lives
when they grow in relationship with Jesus. I've been given many
opportunities to do ministry with teens and all of them have been a
great blessing and a great joy; I learn from teens as much, if not more
than they learn from me, but either way its a beautiful way of
experiencing the Lord and growing in faith together. I love it.
Job: Undecided FT/ Curriculum Specialist for the Respect Life Education Office for the Archdiocese of Boston PT
College: The Catholic University of America; Theology and Psychology
Interests: Reading, Painting, Theology, Running, Iceskating, Stars. My friends. Babies/Children. Currently Weddings.
Favorite LT memory: Rome, especially the field. That and all of the
times when I have seen Life Teen become an anchor and support for the
community when they are suffering a tragic loss. And all the little
things; all the broken objects/ glass, stupid skits, the memories you
can almost not remember, and most currently pickels. :-O
Favorite Scripture: "For this very reason, you must make every effort
to support your faith with goodness, and goodness with knowledge, and
knowledge with self-control, and self-control with endurance, and
endurance with godliness, and godliness with mutual affection, and
mutual affection with love." 2 Peter 1:5-7. And from our Mother Lk1:38
& Lk1:46-56
